Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament - Bluffton SC

The Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament, in Bluffton SC, had been a local institution for over a decade but never had its own website! The chairman of the board came to Brightstocking asking for a brand refresh and to build out a comprehensive website from scratch.

The Breakdown

BRANDING

The Colleton River Collegiate Charity Golf Tournament had been using this logo, created with some pixelated stock icons and a boilerplate font treatment. We needed to incorporate the branding colors of both Michigan State University (the co-sponsor of the event) and the Colleton River Club. We enclosed the whole thing into a badge, as you might see on a varsity jacket, added a dynamic sunrise, and jazzed up the type-styling.

WEBSITE

The Colleton River Club Charity Golf Tournament needed a website that matched its next phase of growth. We created a clean, sophisticated design that puts the focus exactly where it belongs: on the tournament's impact and the unique partnership between Colleton River Club and Michigan State University. Strategic use of white space ensures easy navigation, while a custom-built volunteer management system – integrated with Google Sheets and auto-updated– streamlines coordination behind the scenes. The result? A website that doesn't just showcase upcoming and past tournaments, but actively supports the event's continued growth and success.

SPONSORSHIP AND PROMOTION

While the tournament had been in existence for a decade, its online presence had not. As an invitation-only event, the goal of the website content and SEO is to offer sponsors a deeper look at the charity tournament, recruit volunteers, and provide the general public information about upcoming events. We wanted to make it easy for the event to be promoted by media and universities, so we created a press page, complete with media kit and press contact.
