Case study:
Carolina Community Archaeology
This Lowcountry-based archaeology organization needed a complete brand refresh to finalize the company identity and digital strategy— showcasing their community-focused work and educational mission.

Showcasing community-based science
Dr. Katie Seeber, an archaeologist based in South Carolina's Lowcountry, came to us with a half-built website, a simplified logo, and lots of ideas. We worked in tandem with her on the organization's archaeology brand refresh, developing a comprehensive brand identity and digital presence that effectively communicates her mission of making archaeology accessible to the community. The result is a vibrant, nature-inspired brand that reflects the organization's connection to both history and environment, paired with a strategic social media approach that generates exceptional engagement.

Brand identity development
Carolina Community Archaeology's brand refresh incorporates key elements of their work through a vibrant, nature-inspired color palette. Their logo integrates an archaeological trowel with a landscape scene featuring earth, water, and sky, all encased in a warm golden circle that suggests both the sun and the cyclical nature of history.
Why it works
The brand's typography pairs a bold, friendly green for "CAROLINA" with softer grey text below, creating a professional yet approachable aesthetic that mirrors their mission of making archaeology accessible to the community.
What we did

Visual Identity
We created a complete logo and identity brand refresh that communicates the organization's connection to both history and the natural environment, using elements that represent their modern approach to historical work.
Website Design
We completed and refined the website with a clean layout that balances educational content with compelling imagery, creating memorable experience that brings their mission to life.
Asset creation
We created digital templates in Canva that Carolina Community Archaeology can adapt and use moving forward. No graphic designer needed for updates and small changes.
WHY WE LOVED THIS PROJECT
The Carolina Community Archaeology project demonstrated that even small heritage organizations with limited resources can build meaningful digital connections. By focusing on strategic content creation and authentic storytelling, we helped Dr. Seeber establish a digital presence that genuinely resonates with her community while supporting her important work of making archaeology accessible to all. ccarchaeo.org
